Donate in the memory of Bill Wells

On Monday, January 24th, we learned of the passing of our good friend Bill Wells.  Bill was just 60 years old when he passed away. Bill had a love for Ohio State athletics, especially the Buckeye baseball team.  His family played a leading role in building Bill Davis Stadium and supporting the program with endowed scholarships and the continued support of the Buckeye Diamond Club.  The newly renovated locker room at the stadium is home to the Bill Wells Baseball Team Suite. Bill said, “I enjoy living the sport through the eyes of our baseball players. I wasn’t gifted enough to play at their level, and I take great pleasure providing support to help each of them reach their potential. We are truly blessed with fine young men who play baseball for OSU.

Bill was a fixture at the stadium pre-covid watching his beloved Buckeyes. Bill also followed the Buckeyes on the road attending hundreds of games across the country.
Bill supported all athletes at Ohio State. The Davis Foundation Sports Nutrition and Dining Center at the Schumaker Student-Athlete Development Complex serves over 800 Olympic sport student-athletes.
The support from Bill and the Davis Foundation extended to other areas of the university including the James Cancer Hospital, the Dorothy M. Davis Heart and Lung Research Institute at Ohio State’s Wexner Medical Center and the Fisher College of Business.
We send out condolences to Bill’s wife Jacki and the entire Wells family.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Buckeye Diamond Club.   Even in passing, Bill continues to pay forward.
At the end of all his e-mails was the following quote from Albert Pike.  “What we have done for ourselves dies with us; What we have done for others remains, and will live forever.”
Rest in Peace.
